Course Title: Microsoft Excel - Basics
Instructor: Batavia Domingue-Yost, MEd., Microsoft MOS, MIE
Target Audience: Anyone needing to work in Excel and with spreadsheets.
Prerequisites (courses and/or assessment or tests): Basic keyboarding skills.
Learner Course Materials: Instructor Handouts with working files provided via cloud storage and/or USB drive
Course Description: An introduction to current spreadsheet application software. You will learn basic skills needed to produce business documents. Prior keyboarding experience is valuable but not essential. You must bring laptop with MS Excel 2016/Office 365 or later software loaded.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
Create, open and navigate within workbooks and worksheets
Modify data in a workbook
Create and work with formulas and functions used to perform calculations
Use font formatting techniques to greatly enhance the look of a worksheet
Align the contents of cells in a number of ways
Format rows and columns in a worksheet
Use the number formatting features in Excel
Print your workbook data
Create effective charts in Microsoft Excel
Teaching Methodology and Assessment: The course will consist of one-on-one training, in-class exercises, at-home exercises, and electronic handouts. Discussion, active participation, and questions and answers are encouraged.
Criteria for Successful Completion: You must attend 100% of the class sessions, actively participate, and complete course evaluation while demonstrating satisfactory knowledge of material covered to receive a Recognition of Course Completion certificate and CEUs.
