Course Description: This course is designed to keep your newly acquired signing skills sharp and to continue the development of your ASL vocabulary and to increase your confidence. You will engage in class activities designed to challenge your current skills using ASL.
Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, students will
·See improvement in all areas covered based on teacher/learner skills evaluation
·Be more confident and competent with ASL
·Develop and build upon current ASL vocabulary
·Expand understanding of ASL sentence and question structure
You will be provided with handouts prepared by the instructor or other resources for additional information and practice.
Required Textbook: Learning American Sign Language- Current Edition
·Class participation and completion of assignments
·Outside homework/independent study
Assessments – Discussion, Q and A, role-play, written activities and rubric will be used to determine students’ performance in role-playing and oral presentations.
Criteria for Successful Completion*:At a minimum, for a Clayton State University Continuing Education Certificate and IACET CEUs:80% attendance, active participation in class, assignments, and special projects.
