Course Description: This course provides a workshop experience for those writing longer, more complex scripts, whether fiction or non-fiction, original screenplays or adaptations of other works. Students will workshop a script for their personal project by focusing on characterization, writing of dialogue, character voices, scene pacing, and overall plot construction. Lectures with practical hands on homework assignments will emphasize student retention of ideas and best practices for screenwriting. Students may repeat the course as often as desired.
Clayton State is the only institution in the state to offer a non-credit entry-level editing course. As Georgia continues to lead the nation in the growth of the film industry, there will be opportunities for post-production - including visual and sound editing, special effects, and animation.
There are still openings remaining at this time.
