Course Title: Leading Through Presenting
Instructor: Jim Oldham, training consultant
Target Audience: Individuals that are not comfortable making presentations to groups or that have a need to improve their skills when making presentations to small, medium or large groups.
Prerequisites (courses and/or assessment or tests): None.
Student Course Materials: Participant Guide is included. You will need to bring an 8G memory stick for videos that will be made during this workshop.
Any additional course materials needed by Instructor: Video camera and audio speakers.
Course Description: During this interactive workshop, you will learn the techniques to be successful when presenting; how to design an effective presentation; and, the importance of body language, your voice, the words, and energy you bring to the presentation. You will be recorded while presenting a short presentation and receive a copy at the conclusion of the workshop. You will also be provided detailed feedback for your professional development.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
Describe the key elements of an effective presentation
Recognize the impact of body language, voice and words in an effective presentation
Apply the elements of an effective presentation with appropriate body language, voice quality, words and energy to conduct a successful presentation.
Teaching Methodology and Assessment: Methodology - Lecture, discussions, power point presentations, real life experiences and participant presentations
Criteria for Successful Completion: To receive a Clayton State University Continuing Education Certificate and CEUs, you must attend 100% of the class session, actively participate, make to recorded presentations and complete a course evaluation.
